My Mermaid

This image originally was a fairy. I didn't like the fairy so I removed the wings and added a mermaid tail. Originally drawn in Micron pen. I had to go buy the pen today because Staedtler pens were too thick for this drawing.

After the outline was done, I colored in the images with colored pencil (Crayola). I like the color scheme here. They go together very nicely in my opinion.

After I was satisfied with the colors, I enhanced the image with my Staedtler pens with the hair, jewels, flowers, tail scales and face.

Later when I felt it needed glitter. So I added enhancements on the tail, bra, flowers, jewels, sky and eyes.

This is the final product. What do you think?

HR secrets revealed

Some laughter for those of us who need to, or still do, look through the help wanted ads: COMPETITIVE SALARY
Most of our competitors don't pay much either.
We have no time to train you.
You'll be here very late, very often -- might as well be comfortable.
Your first four projects are already way overdue.
Did we mention that you'll be here very late, very often? And most weekends.
Anyone in the office can boss you around.
We have no quality control.
Female applicants must be childless.
If you're old, fat or ugly, that position has already been filled.
This job listing is just a legal formality. The position was filled by some executive's nephew. "SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF EXPERIENCE"
Due to consolidation, you'll be replacing three people.
This company is a total mess.
You'll have all the responsibilities of upper management, without the pay, title or respect. "GOOD COMMUNICATION SKILLS"
Listen to management, figure out what they want, don't ask too many questions and get the sh*t done.

Wife from H-E-L-L

A police officer pulls over a speeding car.The officer says, ' I clocked You at 80 miles per hour, sir.'
The driver says, 'Gee, officer I had it on cruise control at 60, perhaps your radar gun needs calibrating.'
Not looking up from her knitting the Wife says: 'Now don't be silly dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control.'
As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, 'Can't you please keep your mouth shut for once?'
The wife smiles demurely and says, 'You should be thankful your Radar detector went off when it did.'
As the officer makes out the second Ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife And says through clenched teeth, 'Damit, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut?'
The officer frowns and says, 'And I notice That you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine.'
The driver says, 'Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when You pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket.'
The wife says, 'Now, dear, you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving.'
And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, 'WHY DON'T YOU PLEASE SHUT UP??'
The officer looks over at the woman and asks, 'Does your husband always Talk to you this way, Ma'am?'
I love this part....
Only when he's been drinking.'

Excuses, Excuses

Hey everyone,
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

So here is an assignment I had for one of my swaps... I thought you might get a kick out of!

Think of something really cool to send to your really, really cool and expensive and hard to mail. Once partners are assigned, sometime before the send date, send your partner a Private Message explaining what you were going to send, and why you couldn't send it. Come up with the most elaborate, off-the-wall, ridiculous, nonsensical excuses possible. Ratings are based on whether you received an excuse or not, and hearts can be given for overall entertainment value.

Here is what I wrote:

I had a leprechaun imported from Ireland just for you.
I had to corrupt customs to get it to me, because mystical creatures are so rare nowadays and it did cost me a fortune to get a visa for it.
So I finally did had him here to send to you: the leprchaun, a special travel bin and the travel papers and guess what happened?
The leprechan, I expected to mail to you yesterday, just chanted out some sort of faerie language and started beaming through his rainbow to spread “lucky“ to everyone but us. :-(
I couldn't believe my eyes!!! He cured my cousin of Scleroderma, gave my sister a baby girl, blessed my best friend with a house and huge backyard and then took off somewhere else.
So I'm very sorry, that I can't send you the leprechaun. He is just to fast for me! I hope you'll forgive me.
All the best!

Charm Bracelet Swap

Well, most of you know that I have my own altered art group on Yahoo. I am blessed with many members who are not only willing to play in the swaps but constantly post how much they enjoy the variation.
The Link:
Debi Greene is hosting a swap for Charm Bracelets. Us players have had so much fun making our own twist on this charm bracelet swap. My contribution is pictured above. I had loads of fun wrapping these stones and securing them on the pins. Debi was nice enough to put them on a bracelet for me. Thanks Debi!!!
They look way better on the bracelet then off!
